My name is Montserrat Asensio,
I'm a
systemic coach and also a translator.

Two professions with a common purpose: helping people who don’t understand each other to finally do so.

I work with perspectives: I broaden them, shift them and rearrange them so that what was there, waiting to be seen, can finally appear.

They say I have laser vision,

that I turn people inside out

and that my mind is full of bubbles of creativity that connect dots endlessly.

All of the above is true.

But I don't change what you see.

The only thing I change is how you look at it.

I come to ask you precise questions.

Sometimes uncomfortable. Almost always liberating.

Your story changes your story

Let me tell you something personal

A few years ago, I was in a car accident, from which I emerged unharmed but changed. That episode planted a couple of uncomfortable questions in my mind: "If you had died today, would you have been satisfied with your life? Would you have lived the life you wanted to live?" The answer was a resounding no on both counts, which prompted me to want to build a life that I could say yes to. (Later, I discovered that these two questions, which arose spontaneously, often come up in coaching processes, precisely because they are so powerful. They shook me more than the car that hit me.)

To begin with, I enrolled in the psychology faculty and brought back to life a passion that I had left behind years ago but which had never really left me. By chance —or perhaps by cause— during my psychology studies I found a way to reconnect with another passion that I had also left behind: translation. That is how I began to translate popular psychology books. One passion ended up serving the other.

That's how, one day, the then-new edition of Coaching by John Whitmore came to my desk. Reading and translating his work opened up a new path for me: accompanying others in building a life aligned with their values, goals, purposes, and aspirations. I felt something light up inside me again. I trained and I became a PCC-certified coach (ICF) and a certified Organisations and Relational Systems Coach (ORSCC). Since then, I have worked to develop talent and accompany people and organisations through processes of genuine change.

This is the journey I now bring to you:

my experience and training as a psychologist and coach, united by one conviction: we all have the potential to grow.

All we need is focus and a different way of looking. And everything changes.

It only takes a shift in perspective to change the questions we ask, and a shift in focus to change the answers we give.
